Quick explanation
Understand in 2 minutes
From sensor to automatic ventilation control – briefly explained.
Easy as 1-2-3
Ready in three steps
Set up Shelly
Connect Shelly H&T Gen3 as sensor and Shelly Plus 1 as relay to your WiFi. Done in minutes – no soldering, no coding.
Configure location
Create a location, link sensors and set thresholds for dew point difference, minimum runtime and max runtime.
Automatic ventilation
The app detects when outdoor air is drier than indoor air and automatically switches the ventilation on and off via Shelly.
Why Breeqo Taupunkt?
Why invest €1,500 in hardware when the intelligence fits in your smartphone?
Traditional dew point controllers cost €800–2,500 plus installation by an electrician. Breeqo Taupunkt starts at €0 – with standard hardware from €35 that you set up yourself in 10 minutes.
Traditional control
The "Old World"
- Expensive: €800 – 2,500
- Hardware lock-in: Only manufacturer's sensors
- Rigid: Once installed, never updated
- Complex: Wall drilling & wiring required
Your app
The "SaaS World"
- Minimal start: From €0 / affordable subscription
- Free choice: Compatible with standard sensors
- Smart: Cloud updates & weather forecasts
- Plug & Play: Simply connect to your WiFi
No more overpriced hardware
Why pay €150 for a replacement sensor when a €15 sensor from the smart home market delivers the same precision?
Intelligence over switches
Conventional devices only check indoor vs. outdoor. Our logic includes the weather forecast so you don't ventilate when it's going to rain in an hour.
Control in your pocket
Instead of walking to a box in the basement, you see live dehumidification and mold risk on your dashboard – wherever you are.

Fan Recommendations
Which fan do I need?
Any simple 230V or 24V fan works – Breeqo provides the intelligence. The Shelly relay (dry contact) switches the fan on and off automatically. You don't need an expensive fan with a built-in controller.
Sizing: How much airflow?
Rule of thumb for basements: room volume × 4 = required airflow in m³/h. For a 20 m² basement with 2.2 m ceiling height that gives:
44 m³ × 4 = 176 m³/h
Dalap 100 SD
approx. €32
- 137 m³/h airflow
- 16 W power consumption
- 37 dB noise level
- Ø 100 mm · core drill 105 mm
Ideal for small basement rooms up to approx. 35 m³. Ball bearing motor with 40,000 h lifespan. Simply mount through wall penetration.
Dalap 150 SD
approx. €41
- 365 m³/h airflow
- 36 W power consumption
- 42 dB noise level
- Ø 150 mm · core drill 155 mm
Our recommendation for most basements. Sufficient airflow even for larger rooms up to 90 m³. Same reliable product series.
Maico AKE (100/150)
from €504
- 92–250 m³/h depending on model
- 8–19 W power consumption
- Built-in dew point controller
- From Ø 100 mm
The built-in dew point controller makes the Maico AKE unnecessarily expensive with Breeqo. The intelligence comes from the app – you save over €460.

FAQ
What is dew point control and how does it work?
+
Dew point control compares the dew point of indoor air with outdoor air. The dew point is the temperature at which air releases its moisture as condensation. If the outdoor dew point is lower than the indoor dew point, outdoor air can absorb moisture – the ventilation is automatically turned on. This effectively dehumidifies the basement without bringing in warm, humid air.
What sensors do I need for automatic basement ventilation?
+
You need at least one indoor temperature and humidity sensor (e.g. Shelly H&T Gen3, approx. €17–20) and a switching actuator for the ventilation (e.g. Shelly Plus 1, approx. €12–15). The app automatically gets outdoor values from weather data. All devices connect via WiFi – no cables, no soldering required.
How much does a dew point ventilation controller cost?
+
With Breeqo Taupunkt you start at €0 on the free plan (1 location, 2 sensors, 1 actuator). Hardware costs under €40 one-time (Shelly H&T + Shelly Plus 1). For comparison: traditional dew point controllers cost €800–2,500 plus installation by an electrician.
Can I use my existing Shelly sensors?
+
Yes. Breeqo Taupunkt is compatible with Shelly and SwitchBot. If you already own Shelly or SwitchBot sensors, you can connect them directly – without additional hardware.
How does dew point control prevent mold in the basement?
+
Mold develops when relative humidity exceeds 70% and moisture condenses on cold walls. Dew point control automatically detects when outdoor air is drier than indoor air and ventilates specifically. This continuously removes moisture before mold can develop – 24/7, without manual intervention.
Does the app work without internet?
+
Shelly devices continue to work locally on WiFi even if the internet connection briefly drops. The app needs internet for the dashboard, weather data and notifications. The control logic ensures that the last known state is maintained during connection loss.
